About Us

The SCAD Sequential Art Society Club was established in the 1980's by student at the time Thomas Lyle. Lyle went on to become a beloved professor and faculty member of the Sequential Arts department at the Savannah campus of SCAD. Since it's creation, the SCAD Sequential Art Society, also known as SAS, has continued to function for decades as a way for students to connect with their peers as well supplying current and graduated students with a well of resources for comic creators and visual storytellers.

We meet every Sunday both on campus and virtually from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Our meetings for the past two years have been recorded and uploaded to our archive.

Our club works closely with the Sequential Arts department of SCAD to provide accurate and valuable information to our students so they can continue to grow in their creative journeys.

In addition to the resources we supply to our members and the connections we create, we also aim to create opportunities for our members to grow and promote their artwork. One of the ways we do this is through our Annual Club Zine. Members are able to submit either illustrations or sequential pages that fit our yearly theme. We collect these submissions and print physical copies for our students and for others to enjoy.
